HTC One’s successor to be called the One+

@evleaks revealed what he called “preliminary” specs for the HTC M8, which included a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB RAM, a 5-inch 1080p display, an UltraPixel rear cam, 2.1MP front cam and KitKat with Sense 6.0. Now if a new report from recognized XDA member Mike1986 proves correct, we’re learning even more about the handset.

First, the phone will reportedly be named the HTC One+, and it will feature the newer Snapdragon 805 CPU after all. We also have learned a bit more about battery size, camera and other specs.

The HTC One+ might not be a massive leap up from the original, but it look like it will feature some welcome changes when it comes to processing power, battery size, screen size and — most importantly — it will have an SD slot for memory expansion.

Samsung Galaxy S5 coming at MWC 2014

According to Korea’s inews24, Dong-hoon Chang today confirmed that Samsung would unveil its new Galaxy S5 high-end smartphone at MWC this February. Unfortunately, that’s all that the Samsung exec allegedly said. 

The Korean publication notes that Galaxy S5 is a “tentative name”, so we may have a surprise when it comes to the handset’s final moniker (although, frankly, S5 seems to be the best choice for the smartphone's official name). 

Rumors regarding the features of the new Galaxy appeared countless times until now, suggesting that we should expect to see it having a 64-bit Exynos processor and a 5.25-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560) AMOLED display. We also saw a few concepts that envision the Galaxy S5 through the eyes of fans, but there’s no way of telling if any of them resemble the real device. 

MWC 2014 debuts on February 24 in lovely Barcelona, so we’re not that far away from finding out if the Galaxy S5 will be announced there. Of course, 'till then, CES 2014 kicks off next week, albeit Samsung will probably not reveal any new smartphones at this show, (but it might showcase the Galaxy Gear 2).

Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo with 5” display

A word got out that Samsung will release another version of the popular and affordable Galaxy Grand. Dubbed Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo, the handset is said to sit below the Galaxy Grand 2 in the company’s smartphone range.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo is tipped to have a 1.2GHz quad-core A7 CPU and 5” WVGA display. The smartphone is said to boot TouchWiz-ed Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. There is no further info on the handset’s specifications for the time being.

Given Samsung's proclivity for releasing multiple iterations of the same device, it's easy to believe that these rumors will turn out true. Expect the design of the Grand Neo to be in line with that of the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2.

ZeptoLab Posts New Teaser Trailer For Cut The Rope 2

Cutting ropes is a very wonderful thing, and iPhone gamers probably fall in love with Cut The Rope game that developed by Russia-based developer ZeptoLab. In September the company confirmed that they are working on the second part of the well known game Cut The Rope- a sequel to their popular physics-based puzzler, and the fourth title in the Cut the Rope series.

The brief clip doesn’t really tell us much—it’s just Om Nom sailing through a blue sky, dangling from his iconic rope as pieces of candy float by. The hashtag ‘OmNomIsMissing’ at the end may be a clue though.

For those who don't know, Cut The rope first part have been downloaded more than 400 million times, and enjoy 60 million monthly users. All together, players have cut more than 60 billion ropes.

Microsoft's Zune Marketplace to shut down on Nov. 22

Microsoft already sent an email to owners of Zune devices in August to tell them that Microsoft Points would no longer be supported by the Zune Marketplace. Today, the company sent out yet another email, this time confirming that the remaining Zune Marketplace users won't be able to purchase or rent content from the service, or even browse movies and TV shows, as early as Nov. 22.

The email, which can also be viewed on the web, states that any previously purchased content on Zune Marketplace can still be viewed on Microsoft's Xbox Video service. Xbox Video is currently available on the Xbox 360, along with PCs that have Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 installed. Of course, Xbox Video will also be available for the launch of the Xbox One on Nov. 22 and Microsoft will launch a web-based version on that same day. Xbox Video will also launch for Windows Phone 8 devices sometime before the end of 2013.

This latest email comes just a few days after Microsoft announced it would end Xbox Video support for Windows Phone 7 smartphones as well as the Zune PC client and all Zune devices, sometime towards the end of February 2014.
