Surface 2.0 specs revealed

According to the report, the Surface 2 will run Intel’s latest line of chips, a Haswell based Core i5. In addition, the RAM will receive a considerable bump, being doubled 4GB to 8GB. The battery life of the Surface Pro 2 will go from the current four to five hours to up to seven hours. Finally, while the device will look similar to the current Pro, Microsoft has ‘refined’ the kick-stand that ships with the device.

But both are predicting it won't change much from current Surface Pro pricing, meaning it could start around $799 (U.S.) if Microsoft matches the recently reduced Surface Pro price.

Surface Pro 2 is expected to come with Windows 8.1 preinstalled. Like the first-generation Surface, it will offer users the ability to run existing desktop apps, as well as new Metro-Style/Windows Store apps.

Microsoft took a 900 million dollar write-down recently, but that hasn't stopped Microsoft from dropping prices for the Surface RT and Surface Pro, along with its accessories, as of late. We learned recently that Microsoft had dropped the price of the Surface RT and Surface Pro by nearly $150. Microsoft also dropped the price of the Surface Touch Cover to $79. On top of that, Microsoft has also dropped the price of the Surface RT and black Touch Cover bundle by $50.

iPhone 5C specs Leaked with Siri included

Pictures of the iPhone 5C have been leaked several times on the internet for the past weeks which shows mainly the design, but the specifications are still basically unknown. Today a  new report leaks online which shows the full detailed specification of the iPhone 5C.

Although the American manufacturer has not yet confirmed anything, the name of the device iPhone 5C seems also officially confirmed, where the “C” presumably stands for color.

Specs of the iPhone 5C detailed below:
Dual-core CPU (unknown clock speed)
4,0 inch display
1136 x 640 pixels
1 GB RAM
16/32/64 GB storage
8,0 megapixel camera on the back
1,2 megapixel camera on the front
4.89 x 2.30 x 0.30 inch (124,2 x 58,4 x 7,6 mm)
3.74 oz (106 grams)
iOS 7.0
Siri (English, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Italian and Spanish)

This makes the device slightly larger and narrower than the iPhone 5, but these differences are minimal. The thickness remained unchanged, despite recent leaked cases that showed a slightly thicker design. The weight is 6 grams decreased, which can be explained by the plastic housing.

The predicted retail price of the iPhone 5C is set around $ 400 for the 16 GB version, and the release is set for the end of September.

iOS 7 to be available to the public on September 10th.

An apple developer received an email indicating that iOS 7 would be released to the general public on the 10th, giving non-developers their first peek at the controversial operating system. The email comes from Nuance, which works closely enough with Apple to know the date in advance.

The news could also indicate that the release date of the new iPhones will come much closer to the September 10th event itself. Apple could even opt for a day-of release, a move the company has executed successfully with other products, but never attempted with the iPhone.

Leaked Parts of the Gold iPhone 5S

Today’s emergence of the possibility of a gold colored iPhone 5S is definitely up there with the unexpected speculative topics. It may seem a little unlikely to some, but newly leaked images that show purported parts of the sparkling device add more fuel to the growing fire.

It’s also interesting to note that the source of the images are claiming that they have purposely removed any sign of the Apple branding or iPhone trademark from the back of the device’s shell. It seems rather strange that this would happen, but the lack of any blurring or distortion on the image could suggest that the parts themselves aren’t actually genuine. This however doesn’t mean that the gold or champagne colored device doesn’t exist. A number of well respected and well placed individuals are putting their reputations on the line by stating that this gold variant of the iPhone is indeed going to happen, and happen soon.

With Apple expecting to hold a media event on September 10th we don’t have long to wait to see what they have in store for us and the future of the iPhone.

Nexus 5 coming from LG

Tipped to launch in the fourth quarter, the Nexus 5 is said to be the first handset to carry Android Key Lime Pie. The Google Nexus 5 is expected to land from LG for a second year in a row, and be loosely based on the G2 flagship. The device is also notable for its 5.2 inch full HD display and a Snapdragon 800 processor with a wider screen than equivalent devices because of the extra space afforded by removing side buttons with a very thin bezel on the sides, and camera unit moved closer to the edge of the phone.

A glass back will make its way onto the Nexus 5, in line with the tradition started last year, for what sounds like a killer Android phone, especially if Google again releases it at cost or with slightly subsidized pricing like the last Nexus.

We don't know if the superior audio quality and OIS tech of the G2 will make it into this purported Nexus 5, but if all of this is true, more leaks shouldn't be far behind, as the summer is almost over, and we all know the onslaught that will follow on the way to the holiday shopping craze.
